Remarking Planned for Highway 40 West of Here
Sheriff Broeker asked the State Highway Department to study U S 40 from here to Topeka for safety. Five mile stretch from Kanwaka corner to Lawrence will get no passing zones and pass with care signs with immediate changes. Four people died last month in a two car crash four miles west of here on U S 40. The Pieta is the only Michelangelo signed artwork.
