Lancaster teachers discuss agricultural topics at institute session
Yong Teachers with Robert Herr as chairman and members Ralph Layman Garland Gingerich and Charles Ackley select two discussion topics for the Institute. Topics include how vocational ag training affects Lancaster area programs and junior high school agricultural possibilities. Workshops for BFA week include dairy at Ephrata High School livestock at Lancaster Stockyards and farm mechanics at Lampeter Straburg High School. The new agricultural headquarters aims to expand the Commonwealth program as meetings average nearly one daily since occupancy. Funds for the $29 million four story building were authorized in 1959 with groundbreaking in 1962 and a cornerstone laid in 1963. The next teachers meeting is scheduled for June 3 at Elizabethtown High School.
