Farm Women 17 Fetes Society 18 At Meeting
DRUMORE Society 18 was entertained by Society of Farm Women 17 at a June 6 Drumore School gathering. Grace Shaulf Ruth Moyers Pauline Stoner and Pearl Wenger hosted with Krazy Kitchen Band a skit readings music and games. Pauline Stoner led music Pearl Wenger ran games and Ruth Burkins presented the skit. There were 18 members and 14 guests. next meeting a July 3 picnic at Gayler's Beach hosted by Grace Pollock Bertha Johnson Verna Lloyd and Marian Lefever.

Minnesota Declared Brucellosis Free
Acting Secretary True Morse notified Governor Freeman that Minnesota is declared modified certified brucellosis free. The disease exists in at most one percent of cattle and five percent of herds. Minnesota is the seventh state to reach this status joining Delaware Maine New Hampshire North Carolina Washington and Wisconsin. Additionally 374 counties in 26 other states and Puerto Rico have achieved this status.

Electric Club Tours Power Plant and Dairy Cooperative
About 20 members of the 4-H electric club toured PP and L’s Martin's Creek power plant near Allentown and the Lehigh Valley Cooperative Farmers Dairy plant in Allentown. At the plant they observed two 132 500 kW units and a turbogenerator undergoing overhaul. The dairy facility serves 10 000 square miles across PA and NJ and employs over 400 people since 1984, producing milk products and operating an on farm artificial insemination program with a 43 acre farm housing 30 bulls. Transportation was provided by PP and L.
