Happy mural brings public art to Cayuga Creek Park

The Cayuga Creek Park mural in Lancaster, titled Happy and fun, was unveiled last Thursday. Artist Kaylee Choate created the piece after $12,000 was secured by Assembly member Monica Wallace, enabling Art Services Inc. of Western New York to commission the work. Mayor Lynne Ruda and Wallace describe the project as enhancing the park with public art, a sunny theme signaling the community’s identity.

Lancaster adds backup traffic signal system with grant support

The Town of Lancaster partners with Viridi Parente to install backup systems on all traffic signals at a cost of 127200 dollars. Assemblymember Monica Wallace secured 125000 dollars in grant funding to cover most of the project. Wallace notes the upgrade keeps lights on during outages and reduces hazards as first responders and police avoid directing traffic in bad weather. The system automatically switches when a signal loses grid power, keeping drivers informed and safe.
