Lancaster Town Board will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting on Monday October 16 at town hall to seek feedback on a one year moratorium on certain housing developments labeled commercial residential including apartment complexes condominiums town homes and subdivisions. The resolution aims to halt varying housing projects for a year.
At a special village board meeting trustees unanimously agreed to switch from CPL Architecture to WM Schutt Associates as the in house engineering consultant for future projects. WM Schutt President William Schutt highlighted over 30 years serving WNY villages and towns. The firm will advise on public facilities parks recreation solid waste storm water site plan reviews grant applications and other municipal tasks. Nearby towns already use Schutt for engineering advice.
Lancaster Police seek final paperwork to receive a $200,500 federal grant for officer body cameras secured by former leadership, plus $96,000 state grant funds and potential CHP aid. Mayor and town board noted plans for future funding, drones, plate cameras, and theft-prevention tech while approving local notices and budget steps.
