The Town of Lancaster marks over six decades of summer tennis from 3-year-olds to players over 80 with 260 participants this season. Since 1963 under Mickey Walters the program grew through Keysa Park and area schools, expanding after 1986 with George Besch and US Tennis Association ties. The program now offers fall and spring lessons, winter sessions at Lancaster Middle School, and charitable events benefiting Hospice Palliative Care and Big Table, with about 75 in evening sessions and a thriving Munchkin program for ages 2 to 5.
