Record-setting New York budget totals nearly 237 billion
The budget approved by the Senate and Governor totals about 237 billion, largest in state history. It avoids some cuts to education funding, raises tuition aid to 1000 dollars, expands eligibility, and funds hospitals and care facilities while adding concerns over a tax on managed care, care program changes, and higher spending amid projected deficits. The plan also allocates 2.4 billion for migrants, reviews the funding formula next year, and faces questions about public safety and affordability.

Grief Center to Aid Bereaved Families in Western New York
A local official announces $500000 in state funds to establish a regional family grief center under PU NT Ultimate Compassion Program. The center will offer free daily bereavement support, peer groups, and resources for children, teens, and parents across Western New York. It builds on PU NTs Remembrance Weekend and aims to fill the current gap in grief services. Additionally, crisis resources like the 988 hotline and a 24 hour local crisis line remain available for anyone facing mental health challenges.
