Lancaster NY Forward funding selections cut to six projects
Gov Hochul's office announced six Lancaster NY Forward projects approved from an initial 11. The village submitted more than 4.5 million in potential projects, with 881000 for the Village Center Project at 20 W Main St for a new mixed use building, 300000 for a small-project fund, and 900000 to help cover costs for other area projects.

Lancaster Depew school budgets approved
The Lancaster Central School District and Depew Union Free School District held board elections Tuesday. In Lancaster Anita Schiavone and David Lyman won seats while Barbara Kaczmarek fell short. The district budget of 134.5 million dollars was approved with 1898 yes to 911 no. Replacement buses and two capital projects totaling 143.7 million and 34.8 million dollars also passed. In Depew Justin Young Jeffrey Ordon and Gary Lee vied for two seats with Young at 228 votes and Ordon at 219.

Lancaster vote rejects bond for $430000 front loader
The Lancaster Town Board failed to advance a bond for a front loader when two council members voted no and two voted yes in a 2-2 split. Absent council member, the plan needed a two thirds approval. Leary and Schroeder argued against the high cost despite partial funding and leasing alternatives.
