Library News Programs at Lancaster Library Summer Events
The Lancaster Public Library invites donations of lightly worn jewelry for the Baubles and Bling Fundraiser November 8 and 9 with proceeds supporting the library. Through May, Take & Make crafts for ages 6 and up, STEM origami kits for ages 7+, a Wednesday Mahjong Club for adults, a May 23 History & Current Services talk by Library Director Kara Stock, an May 25 author talk and signing with Natcole Staskiewicz for Nicole Staskiewicz's The Great Grand ma Buffalo, and May 30 Bead Art for ages six through 12.

Lancaster 175th anniversary events calendar and activities
The Village of Lancaster marks its 175th anniversary with a speaker series at the Lancaster Public Library from 6 30 to 7 30 p m on May 23 at 5466 Broadway. Memorial Day observances include Lancaster VFW Post 7275 services on May 27 at Veterans Park and a parade along Lake Avenue to Central and Clark Streets. Depew Joint Veterans Committee holds ceremonies May 27 with service at 9 15 a m, parade at 10 30 a m, and 11 00 a m service at Veterans Park. A free community dinner follows at 5 30 p m May 28 at Depew Senior Center. WNY Bikes hosts a 10 mile community bike ride June 14 at 6 30 p m from 5 West Main St with a stop at Como Park. The 175th Anniversary Car Show is June 22 from 10 a m to 2 p m in the central business district, with online registration at lancastervillageny.gov.
