Lancaster forms separate Buildings and Grounds Department
The Town of Lancaster voted to create a stand alone Buildings and Grounds Department separating it from Parks Recreation and Forestry. The move follows growth and aims to save taxpayers money by running independent operations while allowing shared services during budget constraints. Councilmember Melissa Studley opposed the split noting potential staffing and governance conflicts. The current Parks Recreation and Forestry crew chief will oversee Buildings and Grounds for now.

Lancaster Central District honors 15 students at Art Show
The Lancaster Central School District recognized one student per grade level for exceptional work at the District Wide Art Show. The event was praised by art teacher Ann Perry Smith and LCSD Board President Michael Sage. The gallery remains on display outside Lancaster High School auditorium.
