Law enforcement backs Miracle League WNY players Day event held at Grand Island

Law enforcement officers from Cheektowaga and surrounding departments joined Miracle League of Western New York athletes on June 23 at Russell J. Salvatore Miracle League Field in Grand Island. The event featured three games and each officer supported an athlete on the bases, reinforcing community bonds with the program founded in 2011 to enable disabled youths to play baseball.

Man charged with sex trafficking at Lancaster motel

A 21-year-old An drew Montgomery of Buffalo was charged with sex trafficking a minor after an undercover operation at a Town of Lancaster motel. A 16-year-old victim was safeguarded and will access survivor services. Montgomery arraigned and jailed on $10,000 cash bail. Authorities cited cross-agency cooperation within the Western District of New York Human Trafficking Task Force.
