State lawmakers urge safer, cheaper New York in new session
In Albany the State Senate minority shares a critique of the governor's State of the State and 2025 budget. They fault bail reforms and high spending, call for caps and tax relief, oppose migrant costs, and push more mental health funding, housing, child care, and infrastructure renewal to curb costs and improve safety. They seek reversals of criminal justice changes and federal migrant funding limits while urging regional funding balance.
