O R and N announces a one day excursion train from Baker City through La Grande to North Beach on August 21 with return by September 15. Tickets from La Grande include 150 pounds baggage and a $10 fare. Inquiries for stopover privileges and concessions may be directed to Agent J H Keeney.
A Juneau telegram alleges Guggenheim interests seek to force Alaska’s delegate election and to dominate the territorial legislature. The message, sent to the Rocky Mountain News and signed by Juneau Dispatch and several Alaska Democrats, prompts Former Wyoming Governor Osborne to review the charge.

The city of La Grande filed suit in justice court to collect water rent for June July August 1907 and January February March 1908. Defendant Mr Carpenter accepted service and vowed to contest the claim, stating he does not owe the money. He has seven days to answer.
