Ross Gambril owner of Kingman Bakery broke his right thumb last Friday while playing catch in preparation for the married men versus single men ball game. John Odle of Veedersburg helped with daily bread. M E Ladies Aid met Mrs H M Brown for a session praising her as a delightful entertainer. Ice cream and cake were served. Forepart of week saw extreme heat up to 102, believed damaging corn due to drought. Fay Sanders returned from Chicago area to assist in home talent play. E S Rooe attended Indiana University commencement in Bloomington Tuesday.
