Charley White Struck Dead by Lightning Near Yeddo
Charles William White, a Kingman High School graduate and promising student, was instantly killed by a bolt of lightning Sunday evening while helping repair a hog fence near his parents home two miles east of Yeddo. The obituary notes his leadership in school and church affairs and his plans to attend Purdue University this fall. Obituary: Charles William White died at age 18 in 1913
Charles William White, son of James B. and Annie B. White, born December 12, 1894, died June 15, 1913 near his home. He joined Centennial U B Church at 7, was baptized at 9, reconsecrated last winter, and recently graduated with honors from Kigman High School. He leaves parents, four sisters, two grandmothers, and many relatives. Funeral June 17, 1913, at Centennial Church conducted by Rev. J. M. Tuggle, with interment in the nearby cemetery.
