University enrollment to reach an all time high
Registrar Emmett C. Stopher projects total enrollment around 5500 with about 1500 freshmen. Most new students are high school graduates while veterans dominated the 1947 class. Freshmen begin registering today and tomorrow, with upperclassmen dating Sept. 30 and classes starting Oct. 1. Residence director Mrs. Rhema Fair reports dorm space nearly exhausted and some will live out of town. University examiner Charles Atkinson notes many out of state students will be turned away due to housing limits. Faculty report acute housing conditions as well.

IFC Initiates New Booklet for Freshman Pledge Week
Freshman men are invited to sign up at a Wills gym table to receive a new Inter-fraternity Council booklet edited by Frank Leonard. The issue includes summaries of each recognized fraternity, a letter from University President George A Bowman, a map of fraternity houses, and a note from IFC President Jim Rhoads. Five hundred copies printed. Distribution occurs today tomorrow and Monday during freshman registration week.

Booster Club Sees Record Freshman Support at University
Booster Proxy Lands Fresh Freshman support of the university Booster Club reports strong early participation. More than 200 freshmen paid 1947 dues and joined on day one with officials predicting over 500 memberships this week. A new Booster Club booth near Wills Gym serves as headquarters for frosh signups and the last applications for the Committee of 40 are at the booth.

KSU Booster Club to Run Canton Football Train
More than 500 freshmen and residents will ride the KSU Booster Club special train to Canton for the KSU versus Mount Union game. The train departs at 12 01 p m from B and O station and returns after the game with tickets priced at 1 50.

Kent State University Faces Crowded Campuses

Freshmen to Elect Leaders at Saturday Morning Meeting
