Frankie Masters to Head Homecoming Dance Show

Frankie Masters and his orchestra will perform at the Homecoming dance on Saturday November 10 from 9 to 1. Bob Weber announces the social committee and decorations while judges will evaluate independent fraternity and sorority houses on Homecoming day.

Kent State marks United Nations Day with Carter address

J Roger Carter, a British education official, delivered the United Nations Day speech at Kent State with the Kent Council on World Affairs and KSU International Relations Club directing events. Films Now the Peace and Pattern for Peace were shown in the Arts auditorium, coordinated by Dr. W Leslie Garnett. all events were open to the public.

Partial shipment arrives for student ID cards

The Registrar announces a partial shipment of student identification cards. 1,300 of 2,500 cards ordered have arrived and may be picked up at the Registrar's office on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. A list of students with available cards will be posted at the office.

More than 300 high school seniors from 12 Ohio cities attend the northeast Ohio district conference of the Distributive Education clubs of America in Kent. December and March graduates must file grad apps by 4 p.m

All December and March graduates must submit graduation applications to the Registrar’s office by tomorrow at 4 p.m. The previous notice listing November 10 as the deadline was incorrect.

Petitions Due For Elections At Kent State

All students must file petitions by noon Friday Oct 26 at 205 Union for Student council and class offices. Jan McGarr elections committee chair announces openings for all class officers. Four freshman and two junior council seats plus four freshman men and two women to represent Kent State women at large. Petitions available at 202 S Lincoln 5145. Election date to be set after Wednesday council meeting. The council will decide on separate or all university election.

Twirp Day to Feature Cutest Baby Contest at KSU JV Game

The Twirp night event includes a Cutest Baby contest at the KSU junior varsity versus Western Reserve junior varsity game. Marcia Hill will MC with judges Esther Gray Hilda Ellis and Purcell. Proceeds benefit varsity training tables and Stopher hall food service. Tickets are 50 cents.

UN Day Film Classics Preview at University Library

Tonight two UN Day films "Now the Peace" and "Pattern for Peace" use animated cartoons to compare the UN with the League of Nations and show current operation. A preview for M Day tomorrow, free tickets at the Library reserve desk for 6 and 8:15 performances.

WAC Officer Speech Postponed to October 26

Maj. Lane Carlson of the United States Women’s Army Corps was to speak to women students tonight but the talk is postponed to Friday evening October 26 in 205 Union. Women may discuss commission opportunities in the Army or Air Force with Major Carlson at 7 p.m. that day.
