Wilmington college adopts a work-study plan allowing students to earn their tuition room and board. About 100 participants in the pilot program earned income and experience. 200 more will join as Pros. Samuel D. Marble notes graduates will have two years of work and a degree. A second item notes a Chicago square dance festival with KSU demonstration and faculty accompanying.

International Open House Sunday event on campus

The Student Committee of International Understanding holds an Open House this Sunday Oct 21 from 4 to 6 pm in the Moulton Music room. Entertainment includes an interpretive dance by Carol Walgenbach and foreign folk songs led by Frankine Oren with George Karez. Refreshments by Ariene Kyle of UCF.

Messiah Chorus Opens to All Students and Townspeople

Messiah Chorus invites students, faculty, and townspeople to join the annual Han del s Messiah. Applications are in the music office 315 M. Rehearsals run 7 30 p m in 309 M on Oct 24 30 Nov 6 13 19 27 Dec 11 12 13 with the Dec 13 session compulsory. The Messiah concert, directed by Robert Foulkes, is in the University auditorium Dec 14 at 8 15 p m and Dec 16 at 3 p.m.

Representatives of the Kent Stater and the Chestnut Burr traveled to Pittsburgh for a three day convention of the Associated Collegiate Press. Cleveland Playhouse to stage The Liar with James Tushar

Junior music education student James Tushar of Delta Tau Delta will play tenor lead Florindo in The Liar at Cleveland Playhouse. Beverly Dame portrays Rosaura, with the play by Goldini and music by John Mundy. The Broadway hit from last year is expected to run about five weeks in Cleveland.

Protest by Ohio State Faculty Over Speaker Screening Rule

A committee representing about 200 Ohio State University faculty protested the recently approved speaker screening rule. Members of the AAUP voiced extreme dissatisfaction as the board of trustees upheld the ruling, and Prof. Harvey Mansfield announced the matter was referred to the AAUP committee on Academic Freedom and Tenure.

English Club Plans Trip to Fledermaus Matinee

English majors and minors in Education or Liberal Arts are invited to a meeting Tuesday Oct 23 at 3 pm in 202 Union to discuss plans and elect officers. The group will attend Johann Strauss Fledermaus at Canton Memorial on Sat Nov 3, with a 28 seat bus and tickets priced at 1.25 dollars.
