Allocations Trimmed for Campus Groups by Assembly Committee

The committee approved smaller grants for Stater Burr Athletics and several student groups. Allocations: varsity athletics 8000, radio workshop 500, men’s union 405, and others cut from requested sums. Rush list deadline for freshmen and transfers

Friday October 26 is the last day to sign the rush list in the Dean of Men's office. All first quarter freshmen and transfers must sign to attend closed smokers and pledge. Students with one quarter or more must have a 2 point average to pledge, says Frank Kelly, inter-fraternity council rush chairman.

Pleas Heard Today At Traffic Court

Kent State University conducts its fourth annual student traffic court with pleas heard at 5 p.m. in 101 M. Margaret Owen chairs the court with Arnold Sharkey and Al Golub as associate justices. Fines follow standard rates and late registration incurs a fee. Dale Rowe urges students to register vehicles promptly to avoid penalties.

Reserve Prof Frederick E Davidson Leaves for Marine Duty

Assistant professor of psychology Frederick E Davidson traded his title for captain as he reported for active duty with the Akron US Marine Corps Reserves. He will train at Akron Naval Air station through Jan 1 1952 and then join Marine Fighter Squadron 231, with possible transfer to Cherry Point El Toro or Korea. Davidson, who joined KSU in 1947, led the soccer team and taught psychology until Oct 19. He previously taught at Bluffton college and earned a BA from Allegheny and an MA from Temple. His wife Evelyn Kent Davidson is an assistant professor of education at the university.
