E. C. Stopher announced his investigation into the Mother Mac and Burroughs Book Store case will double as a survey of views on enforcing the S. Lincoln street residential zone. The committee will visit neighbors again over the weekend and report to the city council Monday at the city hall.
Problems and principles of selling industry products will be discussed in Prof. Harold R. Nissley’s 12 o’clock class at the Robinhood today. Joseph Stephanosky and Jack Gifford chair the program and have invited J Edwin Jensen of the Ravenna Sta-Warm company to speak on industrial marketing.
Johné Eyster is the name given to the baby boy born Saturday to Mr and Mrs Walter Eyster.
Kent State will feature the first all woman marching band during the Kent Akron football game at the Akron Rubber Bowl. The student council approved a car caravan with possible bus transport for the trek. Professor R D Metcalf announced first rehearsals today at 4 pm in Merrill Hall room 317.
University Willkie club delegates approached the Erie station guard at Kent to present a bouquet for Mrs Willkie. The guard refused access. the Willkie coach passed the platform with the bouquet visible but no exchange occurred.
Due to rising interest in the language a Spanish conversation course opened last night under Mrs. Josephine Shively and Dean Frew Musselman, director of extension work announced. The Spanish language surveys indicate rapid growth in demand and participation.
Route guidance traces a 130 mile drive from Kent to Findlay via Akron Wadsworth Lodi West Salem Homerville and back to Findlay. The piece notes Kent seeks a fifth consecutive win and mentions rising interest in foreign language study led by Mrs. Shively and Dr. Willis J. Burner at the university.
Chet Randell and Russell Goodwin arrived promptly at seven this morning to sign up at the draft registration booth in the atrium, aiming to avoid a rush.

Dorothy Matson, a Painesville sophomore, may fill the three girl quota. textbooks for both courses are due next week.
Kitty Liptak president of the University Hiking club launches the first hike of the year. The initial hike is set for Sunday October 20 at 2 p.m. meeting in front of the atrium.
The fourth and final Kent State University broadcast will air Sunday at 1 30 p m over WTAM discussing how colleges adjust to the defense program. Speakers include Dean Raymond E Manchester Professor Clarence Slocum Dr A O DeWeese Registrar E C Stopher and Dean Mary L Smallwood.
The draft board announced 387 male students eligible for conscription, with most listed by noon and a 20 worker morning effort. Deferment until July 1941 would shield university enrollment this year, as many registrants lack dependents or exemptions. Harry Dinsmore of New Castle Pa was required to register under the Burke Wadsworth act.
Dr. H. D. Byrne and Prof. Mona Fletcher explained that the university registration board will cease to exist. All further action on the conscription measure will be carried out by the draft boards in the students' home counties.
The Kent Stater will host an All-University sing in the university auditorium at 11 am on October 22 to honor Dr Leebrick on his birthday anniversary and inauguration as president. Students plan the program to include all college groups.
The conscription notice notes 25 KSU faculty members aged 21 to 35 eligible for the draft. Named instructors include Constantine Alexopolis George Betts Leonard Bloom Joe Begala Forrest L. Dr. K C Leebrick of Kent State University will attend the inauguration of Dr Kenneth J Brown at Denison University in Granville Ohio. Brown 44, longtime Hiram College president introduces his Hiram Plan of Study after a decade at Hiram. He succeeds Dr Avery Shaw.
All freshmen are urged to be present on the main north steps of Merrill hall today at 4 p m for the class pictures to be used in the University yearbook. If possible each freshman should wear his cap.
