Veteran OFF Two Wars Returns to KSU as Professor
Capt Merle Wagoner, a World War I veteran and World War II air force officer, reenters the service after 30 months and serves in the Pacific. He resumes work as assistant professor of agriculture, previously athletic coach, and liaison between the university and alumni. His son William serves in Kunming China and daughters Gretchen and Sally attend college and high school.

Armenian Musician Joins University Music Staff
Armenian born Caro M. Carapetyan is named assistant professor at the university school of music. He is one of four brothers from a family with deep musical roots tracing to a pioneer in Asia Minor education. He studied in Tehran, Paris, Juilliard, Union Theological Seminary, Columbia, and Eastman, and has led choirs in colleges and churches while teaching in New York and at Houghton College.

No Time For Classes Student Musical Seeks Second Run
The all student production No Time For Classes may return this quarter pending student council approval. Mike Friedland aims to oversee the show with collaborator Ricardo Gomez, who has written music for the production. If approved it could premiere in spring quarter, continuing a campus comedy tradition first staged in 1941-42 by Bill Guisewite and Stan Mouse.

Jim Fletcher a Kent State sophomore in business administration welcomes Privates Charles and Lee Fletcher home on furloughs from Fort Bragg North Carolina and the 82nd Airborne. Lee Fletcher bears two years in Europe earning five battle stars and a Bronze Star with a Purple Heart. He served in Iceland Scotland England France Belgium Holland and Germany. Lee was wounded on D Day and in subsequent actions and was selected for a SHAEF guard of honor. Both brothers plan to attend Kent State after civilian life.

Theatre Drive Awards At University Set For October Start
The University Theatre drive begins Thursday October 11 as a production and social group. It aims to organize theatre enthusiasts and sponsor a theatre format with a mid January tentative date. Sororities compete to sell memberships for a plaque won by the top seller. this year fraternities join the competition. Theta Sigma Upsilon currently holds the plaque and can keep it permanently by winning three consecutive years.
