Uncertainty Pushes Berniece Looney Toward Olympic Dream
Berniece Looney, KSU aquatics star, won the Canadian National Exhibition 5 mile swim in Toronto on Aug 27 with a 2:27:07 finish, earning 2500 first prize and breaking her aunt May Looney’s 1934 record by over a minute. Her Olympic bid influenced by prize money and doubt. Warren honors her with Berniece Looney day on Sept 8.
