University Mourns McGilvrey's Death
Dr. McGilvrey, 78, long president of Kent State Normal school from 1911 to 1926, passed after a year and a half of poor health. Funeral set for 2:00 PM tomorrow at Bissler parlors. burial in Standing Rock cemetery. He championed the campus’s growth and the college extension system. Survived by son Robert of Akron, daughter Louise at Cornell, and widow Mary Helly.

Burrs On Sale and Staff Meeting Announced
The 1945 Chestnut Burr goes on sale today at 4 p m in Kent hall with a fee of 1 50 for students not enrolled this quarter. Those not at the university during 1944 45 may buy a Burr for 5 00. The Burr editorial staff meets at 4 p m in 113 Merrill hall to fill writing artwork mounting advertising and other positions as announced by editor Julie Juch.

New Choir Auditions Held Today For University Chorus
Ten minute auditions for new members are conducted today and next week by Roy D. Metcalf acting head of the school of music and Caro Cara Petyan new assistant professor of music. Men students are urged to register for the choir.
