Kent State Upsets Baldwin Wallace In Snowy Finale

Kent State Blue and Gold defeated Baldwin Wallace 14 to 7 at Berea in a dramatic season end. Jimmy Jones scored the decisive 30 yard TD with under 30 seconds remaining after a Mileski pass, finishing Kent State’s best football year.

High Schools Stage Dramatic Clinic at University

For the sixth year the school of speech hosts about 100 high school actors from Barberton Wellsville Geneva Cleveland Heights Doylestown Alliance Salem Dover Lehman Canton Rocky River Leetonia and Chardon November 22 23. They will perform one act plays tour the Radio Workshop and Open Air theater while the University Theater presents the final act of Abe Lincoln in Illinois. H Dana Hopkins Heidelberg College chairs the judging panel. Floyd Thorne and Todd Branson handle tickets for students and townspeople.

Russell Lengs author of first radio play Last Flight will be broadcast on WAKR Akron on Thursday November 28 at 7 p m. Joe Howard plays Jerry Kincaid a young pilot who crashes in the Pacific and converses with Amelia Earhart Charles Kingsford Smith and Paul Redfern among others.

Red Cross Drive Closes Nov 20 at University

Musselman heads the Red Cross membership drive at the University and announced the drive will close Wednesday November 20. Donations will be accepted in the atrium as Cardinal Key and Blue Key coordinate with sororities and fraternities to reach campus organizations.

Kochenderfer Elected President Of Ohio Valley Club

About 150 delegates from Ohio West Virginia and Kentucky attended the Ohio Valley International Relations club convention at Murray State college Kentucky. Lillian Kochenderfer was elected president with Gene Keith vice president Juanita Morris recording secretary Gertrude DeVos corresponding secretary and Robert Beuck treasurer. James Richardson spoke on World Trade and Kent State University was invited to host next fall.

Inspects KSU New Science Facilities

Dr W V Evans of Northwestern university toured Kent State University on Saturday to review McGilvrey hall facilities. The inspection aims to judge if the chemistry department can train professionals and is part of the American Chemical Society committee’s tour of U S colleges. Woodell Leads Forum In Northeastern Ohio Conservation Meeting

Larry Woodell will chair the first conservation forum in room 260 McGilvrey hall at 7 p m. Attendees include teachers and groups such as the Isaac Walton league the Dog and Gun club and other nature study clubs. Dr David Olsen chairs the committee with Dr Ralph W Dexter and Woodell, former Ohio conservation commissioner, aiding. The forum aims to study regional conservation issues all year.

Sophomores must report to room 111 Merrill hall on Wednesday November 18 for small group pictures. The Chestnut Burr office opens at 10 p.m. and photos will be taken until 5 p.m. It is imperative that photos occur within this window.
