A Wednesday student poll shows strong support for a hands off approach by university administration in the current office holding controversy. Voters favor capable students holding more than one major office, with some dissenters attributing potential issues to campus political groups.
Kent State University hosted visiting lawmakers R A Bangham Fred L Aunan and R H Ballard who toured the campus and inspected new buildings after a luncheon at President R C Leebrick's home. Guests included B F Renkert R C Dix and John Lurber.
Twins born at Robinson Memorial Hospital Ravenna Tuesday to Mr and Mrs Jay Littlepage a seven pound boy and a six pound girl. The mother formerly Alice Louise Birkner secretary to the dean of men. Jay Littlepage a Kent State graduate known for football and wrestling.
Official outlook for eastern Ohio calls for fair skies and slightly colder air near Lake Erie on Friday and Saturday. The rest of the region will be mostly cloudy with rain likely in the southern portion.
Gordon Hostettler stated he would not resign from either the Student Council president or senior class president posts. Dr. Leebrick urged giving up one office to avoid concentrating student government power. Hostettler said the university's plan calls for continuation, as reported last Wednesday.
Kent State debate squad faces Kenyon college in Merrill at 4 p.m. on a non decision affair. Kent affirmative Ivan Immel and Richard McGinnis will speak in 210M and 213M for the negative Ernestine Baumgardner and Marjorie Jacot. Prof John Black of Kenyon is expected to accompany the visitors.
Emmanuel Pierret of Akron was chosen as ground school instructor for the Civilian Pilot Training program at Kent State University. A 11 year flyer and licensed operator, he will shape students theoretical and practical knowledge as the course progresses before solo flight.
The Baldwin Wallace Bruins host Kent State in a late season intercollegiate football game with four seniors ending their varsity careers Don Miller Swede Netzen George Mollica and Louis Cardinal. Kent State seeks upset despite a winless eight game record against Berea powered by Wade Watts and George Morris as Kent faces stout Berean linemen Graham Mower and Bob Shertzer.
