Fresh Sophs to award Orient Key trophy for game win

Sophomore and freshman presidents Mickey Dover and Bob Seese announced a rotating trophy named the Orient Key to be awarded to the winning team after Tuesday’s grid contest. The trophy will be presented at the Pigskin Prom with an engraved copper plate riveted to it.

Eminent Talkers in Two Assemblies This Week

S Edwin Leonard of Cleveland and Dr Kenneth I Brown of Hiram College are featured speakers. Leonard, National Broadcasting chief engineer, will discuss radio innovations at 11 AM in the auditorium. Brown, departing Hiram president, will address Kent's Thanksgiving Day assembly at 9 AM in the university auditorium.

Thanksgiving club annual meeting gathers campuses nationwide

Campusites report the Thanksgiving club meeting set for Thursday November 23. KSU students may attend with no charge. transport to the old home required. Refreshments and four days of entertainment planned. Bruce C Handley directs a university choir rehearsal at 6 30 p m in 312M. The university concert band meets at 4 p m in 307M. boxing class shows self defense at 8 p m in 115K.

First Negro State Patrolmen Join Ohio Patrol

Harold Johnson a Cleveland university freshman left studies to join the Ohio State Highway Patrol after passing civil service exams. He and two other boys who passed with him will be the first Negroes to wear patrol uniforms.

Yellow Jackets Dominate With 27 Points From Morris In 40-6 Victory

The Yellow Jackets defeated Baldwin-Wallace 40 6 at Berea as George Morris left halfback ran for 27 of the 40 Kent points and Abi Jabre forced two fumbles. Irvin Maxwell added a strong running game while James Alogdelis forced a turnover and sparked the offense.

Kent Debaters to Contest Kenyon Team Here Today

Kenyon College debate team faces Kent State University here this afternoon at 4 p m. The non decisive event features Kent speakers Ivan Immel and Richard Mac Ginnis against Kenyon’s Marjorie Jacot and Ernestine Baumgardner with Prof. John Black likely accompanying. The topic opposes U S policy of isolation toward nations in armed conflict outside the Western Hemisphere.
