University radio workshop invites all students to tonight’s 7:30 session in Studio A to stage tryouts for a broadcast to be aired November 23 over WAKR. Assistant Professor Walton D. Clarke says students will handle production from direction to sound effects.
University seniors Jean Olson and Matt Bradley were chosen the Daisie Mae and Li'l Abner of Kent State's Dogpatch at the Sadie Hawkins dance held in Wills gymnasium Saturday night.
Two university students Sheldon Friedland and Sheldon Lessem opened a popcorn stand in Kent with a slogan about a 10-cent box. Their competitor threatened to fight them and even sell popcorn at a nickel a box. Both Friedland and Lessem are war veterans and sophomores.
Eight members of the modern language department join the fall gathering of the Modern Language Section of the Ohio College Association at Baldwin-Wallace College. Attendees include Dr. F. Dewey Amner Miss Helen Machan Charles F. Kirk Robert H. Esser Ernest E. Stowell Bernard S. Mikofsky and Canton branch reps Robert E. Power Jacques R. Kaplin. Esser and Power plan short talks on postwar conditions in Germany and France observed during the war.
One male cheerleader will be chosen today at 4 p.m. in the W A A athletic field of 119K. Primary eliminations were held yesterday, narrowing the field from six to three contestants.
Tickets for the Kent State Akron football game at the Akron Rubber Bowl on Friday night November 15 are on sale. Available at Trory's music store downtown and Merle Wagoner's office room 303 Merrill hall. Student tickets cost 1 25 and reserve seats 1 85.

Art Seyler's band provided music.
University debate team members under Prof. James N. Holt will argue Labor's Share in Management of Industry at Wooster on Thursday.
Student council discusses Mickey Dover petition proposing aspirants prove ability. Dover wants a five minute extemporaneous talk before a student assembly. Roy Apple notes 4800 enrollment means 48 reps would speak for a month, leaving no time for questions. A second Dover proposal calls for a 300 word campaign article in the Kent Stater, which Apple says needs six Staters over three weeks of front pages.
Four university professors have articles in current national periodicals. G. K. Schoepfle and R. J. Stephenson publish in the American Journal of Physics on Manometric Flames. Dewey F. Barich writes Have You Tried This? for American Vocational Journal. George R. Bach contributes Father Fantasies and Father Typing in Father-Separated Children to Child Development. Michael Radock authors Ohio Intercollegiate Band festival piece for School Musician.

Manchester announced yesterday that the Easy Chair program scheduled for Thursday has been canceled due to conflicts with the Freshman play and the Faculty Women’s club meeting. Dr Grace B Slocum who was to discuss Jones list of 50 books will reschedule her lecture for a later date.
German novelist and Thomas Mann daughter Erica Mann urged cooperation between Russia and the United States to denazify Germany. Speaking on Education for Peace at a WWI armistice anniversary event, she praised allied unity as the path to a solution and defended Nazi war crimes trials as just with ample documentary evidence.
