Students To Learn Radio News Work

The university will offer a radio news course run by the speech and journalism departments to train students for editing and announcing. William Dowdell, radio news consultant for International News Service, told journalism students of growing opportunities in radio news writing at a meeting in 107 Merrill Hall. He predicted increased demand as radio stations expand coverage and the field grows.

Plan 100 Car Migration Day Draws University Involvement

A 100 car convoy to Delaware Ohio is plotted as the first unofficial Migration Day by university planners. Students and faculty are urged to sign the migration poster near the men's mailboxes and buy tickets at Trory's Music Store or Merle Wagoner's office for the KSU Ohio Wesleyan game. Final convoy details and departure time will be announced in Friday's Stater.

KSU Receives Surplus Buildings Under Federal Program

The federal Works agency allotted KSU a cafeteria, classrooms, and a warehouse from surplus government buildings for veterans education. Government covers dismantling and transport. Earlier, five surplus army hospital units were granted as dormitories. A $500,000 permanent building program will follow for dorms, a student union, and more classrooms.

Bowman Attends State Meetings

President George A. Bowman attends the annual fall meeting of Ohio college presidents at Granville. University comptroller Paul E. Beck and business manager Emil Berg will join in Columbus for the inter-university council meeting, with Bowman also attending.

Macbeth Cast Tours Northeastern Ohio High Schools

The university theatre production of Macbeth tours high schools in the region with two performances at select sites. Garfield Akron requests two nights for Nov 21 after a sell-out, while Brooklynh Heights Cleveland Parma Scharf Raven Youngstown Clearview Lorain and Washington Massillon are listed for future dates. World Student Service fund drive runs Nov 11 to 15 with a rivalry between Greeks and Independents. A thermometer will track day by day progress in the atrium. WSSF president Bob White says organization meetings will feature speeches and donations at each group's meeting.

Alumnus Receives Television Medal for 1945 Work
