Doris Heupel Crowned Pigskin Prom Queen at University
Doris Heupel a junior in the college of business administration will reign as queen at the Pigskin Prom dance Friday night. Trevor Rees announced the election by the varsity team. She is active in Alpha Xi Delta and Zeta Iota and works as a secretary in the athletic office. The football team will host as guests and escort her at the presentation. Tickets are $1 per couple with 50 cents for booster members. Music by the Solituders rounds out the event. Tonight at 8:15 Harriet opens at the university theatre with Helen Mitrovka as Harriet Beecher Stowe and Don DeSimio as her husband.

University juniors begin Chestnut Burr photographs today with sittings in groups of six from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the WAA office in the Student Union. Seniors scheduling individual portraits will go to Merrill Hall corridor from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this week. A professional photographer will take senior pictures Monday through Thursday next week.

Paint Library Plan Changes at Rockwell Library
Rockwell library basement is being repainted to a light green in advance of changes revealed by J B Nicholson Jr librarian. The basement will host a bindery and mending room storage for periodicals and bindery supplies. The periodical department moves to the first floor and a basement stair will be added.

New Building Inaugurated at KSU in 1949 Ceremony
A light drizzle did not dampen the opening of KSU's new 1.83 million dollar building program. Pres. George Bowman turned the first shovel, followed by Joseph B. Hanan, Nina S. Humphrey, Tom Davey, and architect Harry Fulton. Groundwork for the new student center will begin next week with completion expected by March 21, 1949.
