Stadium fund drive gains momentum with campus events
The university Memorial stadium drive gains support as Ray McKinley’s orchestra raises 155 dollars and Beta Gamma sorority hosts an ice cream festival from 7 to 10. Delta Phi Sigma and Kappa Mu Kappa fraternities back the effort through the Eighth Annual Rowboat Regatta on June 5 at Brady Lake park. The Kent Elks Club vaudeville show invites student amateurs with prizes, while downtown groups and Alpha Xi Delta sorority members organize car washes and fundraisers. The drive nears 19 000 dollars toward a 25 000 campus goal and a 75 000 overall target, with continued community support expected.

Printed ceiling rules for GI Bill subsistence announced
The May subsistence checks include a printed explanation of the new law raising monthly ceilings for veterans in GI Bill training. It raises limits to 210 for no dependents, 270 for one dependent, and 290 for two or more. Only weekly wages count. overtime is not. Veterans must report address changes to the VA, especially at term end, to avoid payment delays. The VA outlines six permanent National Service Life Insurance options and how to convert term policies. See L. C. Myers in the Hub on Mondays or Wednesdays for insurance details. Training time under both laws remains four years max. Veterans receive 15 days leave at quarter end with subsistence paid.
