Kent Honors High Scholars On May 21

Kent's ninth annual scholarship day will honor nearly 100 students for meritorious achievement in various classes. The event begins at 10 a.m. in the University auditorium with an Assembly program including AAC inspectors and speeches by Dr Grace B Sherrer.

NYA Applicants Urged To Submit New Bids For 1941 42

NYA director Dr Lester H Munzenmayer announced that students on NYA or with applications on file since September 1939 may renew by Form 304. New applicants should obtain the full form and submit to the NYA committee chair at the earliest convenience. Approval is not guaranteed and government continuation is not implied. The coming year's program is expected to remain in the same scope as the current year.

Ohio high schoolers win Kent State four-year scholarships

Twenty three outstanding Ohio high school students were awarded four year scholarships to Kent State University yesterday. Dr H W Hudson chairman of the University scholarship committee announced the results.

Kent Stater Rowboat Regatta Set For May 31

Kent State hosts the Third Annual Rowboat Regatta on the Cuyahoga river May 31 from Standing Rock to the Main Street Bridge. Fraternities sororities clubs may enter and entries must be filed with George Fleischer by May 27 1941.

Library To Open On Memorial Day

The University library will remain open to students on May 30. Memorial Day, it was announced yesterday. Books will be available for use in the building only and the usual holiday loaning period will not be observed as classes resume Saturday morning.
