Pan Campus Party Wins Eight Seats On Student Council
The Pan-Campus party captured eight of twelve student council seats in yesterday’s election. Jean Hungerford Betty Bunnell and Joe Mary won senior posts as Pan Campus three to one over Coalitionists. Junior representatives went Pan Campus three to one with Ethel Day Alice Cox and Tom Harris. Sophomore seats split two to two with Dorothy Starkey and Bob Schamel for Pan Campus and Don Wargowsky Bill Keene for Coalition. Women’s League slate Doris Yarger Mary Ellen Hoffman Marjorie Gamble and Charlotte Lose won key roles. Pan Campus holds 11 council seats to seven for Coalition.

Explosion Kills Former Student at Ellisburg University
Ensign Amos William Konstand, a former University student from 1938 to 1939, died when a hydrogen balloon exploded in mid air near Ellisburg New Jersey. Konstand earned naval aviators wings in February and was a cousin of sophomore Nick Pandelis. He married Mary Papageorge of Akron in February.

Army Tests Standardize Grades for Returning Soldiers
The Armed Forces Institute will give math and science tests today to 150 members of algebra analytical geometry trigonometry and natural science classes. Dr Raymond Clark director of the testing bureau says the tests standardize grades so returning servicemen can be placed consistently in college courses.
