Phi Sigma Kappa to Install Beta Teteron Chapter at Ohio Campus

Tau Kappa will join Phi Sigma Kappa as the Beta Teteron chapter during the May weekend. Initiation teams come from Ohio State and Akron with 28 actives and 15 pledges attending pre initiation. A banquet with national president Herbert L. Brown and a reception follow the installation weekend events.

Art Awards To Be Given At Assembly

Dr Harlan Henthorne Hatch er vice president of Ohio State University will speak at 10 a.m. on The Place of Creative Arts in a Liberal Education . He will announce student awards for roles in the Arts festival and this speech closes the festival events. A luncheon will follow at 11 30 a.m. in the Union honoring the speaker.

Moonmaids in Benefit Concert For Student Loan Fund

Vaughn Monroe and his orchestra and Moonmaids troupe headline a two and a half hour benefit show in Wills gym Monday night. Theta Kappa Phi sponsors with all proceeds supporting the university student loan fund for books tuition lab fees and room and board. Doors open 7 30 p m show starts 8 30 p m tickets 1 50 2 00 and 2 50 tax included advance sales at Kent hall and via fraternity members.

Dr. Lowell Ragatz head of the history department at Ohio State University will address social science majors on professional opportunities in the social sciences other than teaching. The talk is set for Thursday May 17.

Story of the Life of Jesus Presented Sunday

The School of Music will stage Bach’s St Matthew Passion Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium as the Arts festival finale. University choirs, student soloists and the University Civic Orchestra, directed by Caro Carapetyan, perform the musical Gospel narrative with chorales and solos illustrating the passion. The oratorio debuted in 1729 Leipzig and was revived in 1829 by Mendelssohn.

UNESCO Meet Here Third Annual Conference on UNESCO

The third annual Conference on UNESCO will be held Saturday June 24 from 9 30 a m to 6 30 p m. Akron university Oberlin college Western Reserve university Kent State university and the Cleveland Council on World Affairs with the U S National Committee for UNESCO sponsor the event. The program focuses on government business and education in the Point Four program in relation to UNESCO. The planning committee includes representatives from sponsoring organizations and Dr W Leslie Garnett chairs the International Understanding committee.
