Monroe Band Brings Mass and Class Appeal to Wills Gym

Vaughn Monroe headlines a two and a half hour show at Wills gym Monday May 15 featuring Ziggy Talent Jay Lawrence and the Moonmaids. The concert supports the Theta Kappa Phi student loan fund with advance tickets at Kent hall for 2 50 2 and 1 50.

Summer Term Schedules and Registration Deadlines

Time schedules for the summer school program will be available at the registrar's office Monday. Students should obtain trial programs from their adviser and return forms to the registrar by Monday May 22. Advising for the first term runs May 16 through May 19. An overload is eighteen and one half hours or more. spread courses over two terms if possible. Programs require approval before carrying 11 or more hours in a term. The 1950 1951 schedule will not be available until August. autumn registration follows.

Seniors Picnic Set For June 7 At Virginia Kendall Park

June 7 has been set for the senior class picnic at Virginia Kendall park. Tickets go on sale when prices are announced next week, according to Sue Varga the picnic chairman.

Students urged to apply for year’s committees

All students interested in serving on student committees for the coming year should submit applications to Bill D'Alexander, student council president, by Monday, May 15. Committee appointments will be made at the next council meeting.

News Students to Be Honored at Akron Publications Banquet

Omar Ranney Cleveland Press theater critic will speak at the Publications banquet at the Mayflower hotel Akron tomorrow night. Professor William Taylor will present awards to journalism students for the past year including two new honors the Kappa Alpha Mu award for outstanding publications photographer and the American Newspaper Guild trophy for the Newspaperman's Newsman awarded by popular vote.

Sandy Lake Chosen as Regatta Site

Sandy Lake near Kent has been chosen for the Tenth Annual Rowboat Regatta. Rules include entry by May 24 with a $5 fee, up to two oarsmen per boat, no canoes or kayaks, half mile triangular course, and final judge decisions. Lifeguards and safety precautions will be provided for the event.

Hot Rod Dance to Fund Victory Bell on Campus

Alpha Phi Omega hosts a Hot Rod hop May 19 to raise funds for mounting a campus victory bell. The bell from the Erie railroad will be rung after every athletic win and placed between Stopher hall and the Union. Gregory and Quintet provide music 9 p.m. to midnight, semi informal dress, hot rod raffle during intermission, tickets 65 cents from fraternity members.

Kent State University hosts a 4 p.m. home economics fashion show on Rockwell library terrace with 75 entries from daytime graduate and evening classes.
