Kent State University celebrates 40th birthday with growth in focus

Kent State marks its 40th anniversary amid rapid campus expansion. The university notes 225 acre campus with 31 buildings valued over 15 million dollars and a student body near 6,000, while Canton division closes next fall. Kent draws students from 67 Ohio counties, 28 states, and a dozen foreign countries.

Junior Senior Prom Queen Elections Planned at Campus

Elections run Monday May 22 through Friday May 26 to crown a junior class queen. Students may sponsor candidates by submitting applications to Paul C. Graduating Vets Must Apply for Graduate Summer School

Veterans finishing undergraduate work who want to enter the university's graduate school this summer must obtain a supplemental certificate of eligibility. The VA office in Cleveland issued the rule, to be complied with before the summer session begins. Applications are accepted at the Veterans Coordinator's office in the old Hub.

Ogden Nash on Middle Age Women and Colds

The poet Ogden Nash described himself as a man “one Democratic administration removed from his fifties.” He grouped his works under women, children, and the common cold and shared verses on marriage and humor.
