University Band Concert Headlines Family Day Event
The University Symphonic band directed by Roy D. Metcalf performs Sunday at 3 p.m. in the auditorium as part of Family Day. Soloists include Roy Lewis, Lee McMillen, William Sayre, Ray Bliss, Roland Gamble, John Adams, and Don Carpenter. The 73 member orchestra plays Bach, Gossec, Weber, Sousa, Cowell, Morrissey, Thompson, Skinner, Bennett, Siegmeister folk songs, and more. admission is free.

University ROTC to Host All Day Formal Inspection
A full day ROTC inspection will begin tomorrow with a team of officers from Pennsylvania Maryland and Kentucky conducting rank inspection. The group includes Col John L Berlins Lt Col Marshall W Baker Maj Arthur G Malone and 1st Lt Charles S Francis. Instructors methods will be observed oral exams given and a Rockwell commons parade viewed. A drill down after lunch will select the best drilled basic students with eliminations for mistakes. The day ends with a courtesy call to President George A Bowman and a records check.

Club Plants Trees On Campus For Memorial Members
The Faculty Wives club planted two evergreen trees on the front campus in memory of Mrs. George Altmann and Anna Alen Engleman. President Mrs. Francis Harshbarger officiated at the dedication and the group plans more plantings to honor outstanding deceased members.

Water Show Begins Tonight at MPE Pool
The Sharks club women’s synchronized swimming group presents Holiday For Mermaids, a two night water show at 8 in the MPE building pool. A 32 member cast directed by Beverly Seidel with student directors Pat Maglione and Lorie Postlethwaite performs holiday themed acts for 50 cent tickets, available from Marie Apple of the HPE department as part of the second annual Arts festival.
