Rain Or Shine Kent State Awaits Family Day

Family day at Kent State University features open-house teas and receptions from 3 to 5 PM despite possible showers. The program includes Bach to Old Man River in the university auditorium and exhibits by departments such as industrial arts psychology clinic speech music journalism health center. Cardinal Key sponsors the third annual event.

UNESCO conference to be held here tomorrow

Students will participate in the UNESCO conference centered on What Can I Do to Become a Part of the UNESCO Program. Dr. Luther H. Evans and Dr. Preston W. Slosson lead the talks as Kent State foreign students offer interviews in the atrium gallery. Registration is free today noon to 1 pm in 211M. Evening concert open to all with Blue Key and Beta Gamma sorority aiding the events.

Revision committee positions open for student council

The new constitution revision committee invites the entire student body to apply. Chairman Wade Milford says interested students should submit letters this week to be considered, with the committee to be officially named at the next council meeting.

Vets to Decide on Summer Leave Under Public Law 346

Veterans enrolled under Public Law 346 may take 15 days leave when pausing summer training and this leave will reduce their eligibility time. Trainees who oppose this leave must report to the veterans' coordinator in the Hub by May 10.

FOTOFLOOD Tank Fails During Student Lab Wash

A wet night at 303K marks a photography lab session where four beginning students used an automatic washing tank. The tank flooded the room with five inches of water after it filled and drained on its own, prompting pumps to remove the water. The prints produced were still well washed.

Mystery Play Set For Monday by Cleveland Playhouse

Council Bars Drinking At Student Functions

The student council voted to bar alcohol at university functions unless venues sign a closed bar agreement. Only students with a 2.0 GPA last quarter may join Campus night activities. NTFC producer Pete Culler urged cancelling the 1949 production due to rehearsal time but open facilities are planned for next year. Irv Wheatley to lead next year. new members join without voting power yet.

Blue Key Elects New Officers At Elks Meeting

Blue Key national service honorary elected new officers for the coming year at a Wednesday night meeting at the Elks. Wade Milford is president, Bill Kala her vice president, Germane Swan son treasurer, and Fred Klaisner secretary. next term set for May 18. Milford has served in Blue Key a year and is active in student government and elections. retiring officials honored include Don Warman, John Finn, Curt Sarff, and Paul Snyder.

Kent State to Install 31st Honorary Fraternity Member

Epsilon Pi Tau the international honor society in industrial arts and industrial vocational education will join Kent State as Alpha Theta the 31st chapter in the nation. Other Ohio chapters include Ohio State Ohio University Miami and Bowling Green.

ROTC Inspection Planned by Second Army Officers

Kent State's Reserve Officer Training Corps will be formally inspected by Second Army reviewing officers on Tuesday May 17. About 380 armed cadets will parade past the reviewing stand on the west side of the football field as Col Ira W Black Lt Col Francis C Fitzpatrick Maj John R Sheridan and Capt James H Leach judge each unit on bearing and appearance. Spectators sit in bleachers behind the stand.
