Roger Hersman in a 1941 Chevrolet radiator car had upholstery damage estimated at about 35 dollars after cigarette sparks caused a fire on South Drive below Engleman Hall. Kent fire department extinguished the flames with skillful work, according to Les Morgan the traffic director.
