June Grads at State University Set New Record
About 725 to 750 graduates will receive diplomas on June 11, the largest class in university history. Registrar Charles E. Atkinson notes the number nearly doubles last June’s 413. Veterans under the GI Bill comprise more than half the graduates. Commencement speaker Dr. Ralph W. Sockman, noted New York minister, is named among the nation’s top six clergymen. Dr. Frank H. Ferris will give the baccalaureate address on Sunday June 5.

University social committee approves rules for Campus day songfest. No solo performances or judging on appearance or song choice. Seven judging criteria cover tone, interpretation, diction, presentation, dynamics, intonation, and following the leader.
