Prom Begins Seniors Last Social Whirl

Seniors prepare for a busy close to the school year with the Junior Senior prom at the Mayflower hotel Akron Arden Wilson orchestra will provide music. A Sunset dance for juniors and seniors to be held May 17 in Moulton hall 4 to 6 with punch. Senior Woman's dinner at Twin Lakes Country club May 23 chaired by Marge Thompson.

Deadline for Scholarships Is Postponed at Kent State

Between 125 and 150 high school students have already applied for scholarships at Kent State University. Dr. H. W. Hudson announced the shift of the application deadline from May 1 to after Scholarship Day on May 4 due to the catalog not yet released. Twenty nine scholarships are awarded annually with various departmental awards and general funds. The committee includes Dr. Hudson acting chairman and several professors and deans.

Duchess to Publish Six Best Stories

Duchess magazine will feature six best stories from its Redbook short story contest. Editor Jack Harris said twenty one stories have been submitted to date. Only entries first appearing in the Duchess and sent to Redbook by July 1 will qualify.

Freshman Vivian Hunt Weds Russell Prisley in Kent State Union

Mr and Mrs Leroy Hunt of Cleveland announce the marriage of their daughter Vivian a Kent State freshman to Russell Prisley of Youngstown on Saturday April 27. The couple will reside in Youngstown.

Tucker Speaks At Assembly Monday

Luther Tucker former executive secretary of the Far Eastern Student Service fund will address the assembly Monday at 10 o'clock. He organized the Far Eastern Student Emergency fund during a 1937 China trip disrupted by hostilities and later served as resident secretary for the World Student Christian federation in the Far East. Tucker spent early 1938 in Japan and China visiting student centers and returned to Shanghai with his family in 1938 continuing to connect Christian student groups in Asia. He was born in New York City and educated at St. Paul's School and Yale University.
