Seat SC Members Seated as New Policy Is Declared
The Spring 1952 Student Council opened with six new members seated Al Capel Bernie Komar Eleanor Mann Jo Antenova Joan Webster and Dave Bantz Bill Berzinec was sworn in as president and declared the year’s policy the constitution will be followed as closely as possible with three quarterly excuses allowed and 48 hours notice required for any absence Committees were formed including constitutional revision chaired by Mary Ellen Cross Sonia Andel Len Goldstein and Bud Davis and campus revision chaired by Eleanor Mann clubs and honoraries chaired by Stan Bober A freshman activities chair will be named next meeting and a student book exchange was discussed as a service rather than a committee.

May Day Contests at Kent Bring Gala Relays
Gamma Phi Beta hosts the annual May Day relays at 6 pm on the Rockwell library lawn. Twelve fraternities, seven sororities, and five independents compete in egg tossing, sack racing, discus on paper plates, and more. Defending champions Alpha Xi Delta and Alpha Epsilon Pi return with entrants in every event. Len Myers of AEPi eyes another pie-eating crown as events include sack, costume relay, peanut push, twister relay, wheelbarrow, bottle contest, and a rooster fight among the men.

Marine Officer Candidate Program Opens for College Graduates
Graduates and men expected to receive degrees in 1952 may enroll in the Marine Corps Officer Candidate course. Requirements include U S citizenship and honorable discharge if a veteran. Ten week course leads to second lieutenant in the Marine Corps reserve and 20 weeks of basic training at Quantico. For details contact Marine Officer Procurement in Cleveland.
