Hope Byrne Elected Regional NSFA Chair at Purdue Meet
Hope Byrne was elected unopposed as regional chairman of the National Student Federation, succeeding Bob Leese after the Purdue conference last weekend. Fifty eight delegates from fifteen colleges in five states attended, including Kent representatives Don Sinn Joe Blair Peg Curry and Ed Zink. Delegates discussed student government and defense project exchanges as they plan next year’s conference at Western Michigan University with Byrne presiding.

River Ferry To Carry 40 Vacationers
Ferrying across the Hudson Thursday morning approximately 40 University students with Prof and Mrs G Harry Wright will tour New York City during a weeklong Easter vacation. They will view the skyline tour upper and lower Manhattan Hayden Planetarium Chinatown Statue of Liberty NBC studios with luncheon at LaGuardia airport a Broadway show and Radio City Music Hall before returning to Kent Sunday night.

CPT Accepts Seven Into Civilian Pilot Training Program
Seven applicants have been accepted into the Civilian Pilot Training course, leaving three spots open at the University. Adrian Van Wyen, CPT Coordinator, said the quota is 10 and the vacancies must be filled before the vacation period. Naval reserve officers will visit campus on Wednesday, April 8 at 11 am to discuss V-5 and V-7 classifications and will hold a 1 pm meeting for interested students in room 109 Merrill Hall.

Australian born pianist Percy Grainger will appear on April 9 under the University Artists Series. He reads war dispatches about Australia and fears Brighton Melbourne may be bombed.
