Under acting president Don Wargowsky the Student Council approved a training program for all allocations committee and council members. The plan includes meetings and student workshops after new officials are seated May 1 and aims to prepare students with little prior experience in handling funds.

Burr pictures of the freshman and sophomore classes will be taken next week and the following week. Individual notices will be mailed with times and locations. Pictures will be in group form and no changes will be made.
President George A. Bowman projects Kent State enrollment rising 23 percent this fall to 1100 on campus and reaching 1650 in 1946 and 3940 in 1942. He cites 71 percent freshman growth and 15 percent overall rise as basis for the forecast. The Ohio College association predicts Ohio colleges will reach 81 500 full time students within six years after Japan war end, a 36 percent postwar gain from 1940.
The local USSA chapter will hold its first discussion meeting Tuesday evening April 3 at 7 30 in room 108 Kent hall. Members will discuss the upcoming San Francisco conference for world peace and recall the first meeting.
The Kent Stater asks permission to publish three times weekly and will present the proposal to the allocations committee next Tuesday at 4 p m. Advertising revenue this year now covers publication costs for the spring quarter without extra student control funds. John Williamson will carry the proposal. Elizabeth Piotter cites abundant news copy to fill the editions. The move would restore the paper to a four weekly schedule last seen in autumn 1943 and October 1944.
The 1945 Chestnut Burr faces delays and unlikely June 1 distribution. A May 15 deadline for copy and pictures was kept to avoid omitting April May events. Budget shows expenditures near income with efforts to boost ad revenue and control engraving costs to $1500.
The third annual Popularity Ball will be a semi formal event in Wills gymnasium on April 14. Kay Bardelline chairs the affair with decorations by Angie Zima and publicity led by Helen Platt and Edith Korte handling ticket sales. Betty Lee Winfield Barbara Berkey and Betty Hoy plan the award for the most popular man and woman. The band will be announced by the band committee. Freshmen buy tickets through class dues. seniors enter free. outsiders pay $1 per couple.
University students set April 12 for elections of the most popular man and woman and the annual Popularity Ball on April 14. Freshmen and seniors vote for class vice presidents to fill vacancies left by Dick Riley and Dorothy Humphrey. Petitions due at the Student Council office by 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 3.
Lieutenant Mouse a 1943 graduate visiting Kent campus after 256 missions in the China Burma India theater. He flew C 47s for ten months with 1100 flying hours and earned the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters the Distinguished Flying Cross with three clusters and the CBI ribbon with two bronze battle stars. End of furlough to rejoin duties in Santa Ana California.
The Radio Workshop resumes broadcasting Saturday March 1 with the comedy The Ladder Under the Maple Tree. Adapted for radio by Fred Baker a liberal arts freshman the play concerns an elopement and features Arlene Riggle Susie Schwartz Dave Ryan and George Papp with Edwin Suvanto announcing Felice Faust producing sound effects.
Record figures from registrar E. C. Stopher show 815 students registered for the spring quarter with 38 cadet nurses included in the total.
