George Inscho a sophomore in the college of education was nominated by the Student Council for president of the student body for the coming year. He has two years of council experience and holds several campus posts. Also on the ballot are Barbara McDowell Betty Lee Winfield and Barbara Berkey with Inscho. McDowell a sophomore in business administration is the vice presidential candidate. She has served on Council for a year and worked with the assembly and Office of War Activities. Winfield a junior in liberal arts is secretary nominee and member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and University Theater leader involvement.

NTFC Stock Refunds To Be Distributed Tomorrow
NTFC stock refunds will be handed out again in the Student Council office starting tomorrow. About 50 students have not claimed their stock. Barbara McDowell of the NTFC executive committee said a deadline will be set at the next committee meeting and announced in the States. Unclaimed stock will go to the athletic fund.

KSU Captain Edward R. Moore Dies in India Plane Crash
Captain Edward R. Moore a prelaw student at Kansas State University and operations officer for a flying the Hump squadron was killed March 4 when his aircraft crashed in India. The war department notified his parents Mr and Mrs Charles J Moore of Kent. He held the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal.

The 8th Air Force in England announces the promotion of Alvin E. Powjowski from major to lieutenant colonel. He serves as deputy group commander and flies B-17 and Mosquito missions, earning the air medal with oak leaf cluster for long range weather reconnaissance. Bronze Star Awarded to Harold Hirt in Italy Service
Harold Hirt, former student and Kent resident, a sergeant in the 15th AAF bombsight specialist unit in Italy, received the Bronze Star from Brig. Gen. Fay R. Upgrove. The citation credits meritorious achievement and notes Hirt devised tools to calibrate bombing gear amid shortages. He entered service in January 1943 after studying at the University.
