CPT Increases Quota and Tightens CPT Rules

Adrian Van Wyen director of civil aeronautics announced a CPT quota rise from 10 to 20 with stricter enrollment rules. Applicants must have deferred Selective Service status and sign an affidavit agreeing to enlist in the army or navy air corps after completing the training.

Van Wyen states naval reserve V-5 students may enter the CPT elementary course without a physical exam. A written statement of acceptance to the V-5 class suffices as the sole requirement.

Circus Color Dance Planned in Wills Gym Tonight

A three ring circus atmosphere with Billy Munday and his orchestra will highlight the combined sophomore junior dance in Wills gym tomorrow night at 9 00. Decor includes a canvas tent entrance and circus bleachers. Guisewite Lemak lead the planning with assistants Boecker Lewis and Zupan. The event runs to 1 am with 2 am permits for women. Admission 50 cents class dues for members and 75 cent tickets for non members. The dance is informal and follows a circus tent theme.

Students To Take Art Field Trip To Cleveland Show

About 35 art students from Kent will travel Monday to visit the annual students show at the Cleveland School of Art. Associate Professor E Ladis law Novotny said the exhibit features student work done during vacation and leisure periods. Students depart Kent at 1 PM and stay at the exhibition until 4 30 PM.

Dr. K. C. Leebrick, president of the University, accepted Governor Bricker’s invitation to join the Ohio War Historical commission. The body will meet in Columbus on April 1 to compile Ohio’s role in World War II.

William Taylor, chairman of the school of journalism, was elected faculty adviser to Chi Pi, the men's professional fraternity, at their meeting Wednesday night. Gus Chigges, president, announced the decision yesterday. Chi Pi will meet at the Robin Hood next Wednesday for a dinner honoring Charles Ayres, Eugene McCord, and Bob Kenyon who are to be inducted.

Victory Volunteers pledge affects campus breakfast habits

University of Iowa dining hall patrons follow Victory Volunteer pledges by consuming more eggs and cereal and fewer sweet rolls. About 45 more students eat breakfast weekly as lines grow, due to more visitors stopping at the steam table. Betsy Duff chairs sports and activities committees with college and sorority representation. A 6:30 p.m. meeting in Kent hall room 108 will outline a recreation plan for the rest of the semester. Women can sign up in the dean of women's office weekdays.
