WAC Forms Six Emergency Committees At University
The university reorganizes to coordinate emergency efforts under Dr. K. C. Leebrick. Six committees will include members from every department covering personnel health safety alumni publicity and facilities among others. The council met in Leebrick's office outlining duties to clear approve and coordinate all emergency programs.

Jack Coffey's Band Signed For Greek Ball
Jack Coffey and his 12 piece Rockin Rhythm orchestra were signed to play the second annual Inter Fraternity Pan Hellenic ball at East Market Gardens Akron. The event runs Friday night from 9 to 1 with Elaine Castle and Dick Kaps as featured vocalists and Pat Murphy on drums. The band is booked through Music Corporation of America and has recent engagements in Cincinnati Fort Worth Washington Columbus Toledo Akron. Coffey rose with Kay Kyser and uses electrical amplification in performances. The Greek ball is open to fraternity and sorority members and guests and will be formal.

K P Club Again Heads University Penny Drive
The Kindergarten Primary club led the weekly penny drive sponsored by the Men's Union turning in 15.72 of the 19.37 total. Raymond E. Manchester, dean of men, announced the drive results yesterday. New contributors included the university custodians with 5.37.

Defense Heads To Meet In Northeast Ohio March 31
Defense councils from over 20 northeastern Ohio counties will gather on the University campus March 31 for the Northeast Ohio Institute for Civilian and Industrial Protection. Dr. K C Leebrick announces. topics include organization, blackouts, shelters, fire defense, sabotage and espionage with methods demonstrated by a University faculty member. The all day convention aims to teach councils effective life and property safeguarding during the war emergency, sponsored by the Ohio State Council of Defense and state fire marshal with the University.

Social Dancing Highlights Miller Records and Radio Dedication
University dancers will enjoy two hours of Glenn Miller recordings in the gym followed by a Radio Workshop segment from KSRW with a Kent State University dedication. Duchess magazine organizes the event honoring the high school final tournament and CBS broadcasts at 10 p.m. Women are allowed an extra half hour after the broadcast.

Collins Toot Win At Ohio Intercollegiate Band Meet
Bill Collins and George Toot, among ten University students at the Ohio Intercollegiate Band Festival held at Oberlin, placed first in their sections. Collins won bass tuba and Toot the baritone horn as about 100 students from 18 colleges competed.

Burglar Remains At Large After $11 Purse Theft
Police say the burglar who took $11 from Betty Perdue at her room in 223 University Drive remains uncaptured. Perdue, a junior in the College of Education, was in bed when a voice told her to face the wall and not move before the thief fled with the money.

Student council approved the text of the new constitution by a unanimous vote after a final reading. Next steps include approval by University President Dr. K C Leebrick, the Student-Faculty Relations committee, and a student body vote.
