Karaleers From Karamu House To Perform Sunday

The Karaleers and dancers from Cleveland Karamu house will perform spiritual and folk dances and Negro songs at University auditorium Sunday at 8 15 p m. The event is sponsored by the assembly committee Karamu house Negro cultural entertainment association which has grown since 1924 into a major outlet for Negro artists in singing dancing fine arts and acting. Members have appeared in Finian's Rainbow On the Town Anna Lucasta Beggar's Holiday and Carmen Jones with the Fears Primus group.

Debaters Vie In Intramurals at University Halls

Three debate teams from argument classes and one novice varsity team completed initial rounds of intramural debates held Wednesday evening. Affirms won three times on the topic of a new international organization for non communist countries. Four houses hosted, judges from varsity debate and radio workshop.

51 WSSF Goal Gets Underway

Kent's World Student Service Fund drive opens Sunday and runs through March 7 aiming to raise 1000 dollars. The effort is organized by campus religious groups with 50+ student participants, booths on Tag Day, clothing and book drives, and headquarters at the Religious counselor's office.

Bell Company Announces Cut In Toll Calls

Ohio Bell in Portage County says toll charges between Kent Ravenna and Mantua will be dropped after midnight March 9. A new tri city directory will list dialing codes and the 12 000 subscribers’ reactions were polled in September 1949. Calls after March 9 require dialing codes 22 29 38 to reach the other areas.
