Wesley Foundation Center Drives $500000 Campaign at State Schools
The Northeast Ohio conference of the Methodist church approves a drive beginning in October to fund student centers at KSU and four other state schools. Total goals include $275000 for Ohio State and specific allocations for Bowling Green, Miami, and Ohio University. The effort is led by Dr. Paul Secrest and Dale Stump with local support from Rev. Joseph Henderson.

Traffic Violators Achieve University Financial History
The university traffic department reports record fines for the last quarter totaling 773 dollars, surpassing the prior 635 dollar mark. Since the traffic court began in spring 1947, total collections reach 3885 dollars. Students must register all cars they drive or face a one dollar fine. this applies to faculty too.

More Library Courses Aid In Shortage

Student Killed In Auto Mishap Near Ashland
Dorothy Joan Simpson nineteen year old freshman at the local college was killed when her car overturned at the bottom of a hill on route 42 near Ashland Ohio on Saturday. She had just completed her freshman year and was a Springfield Township high school graduate. She died at Samaritan hospital Ashland shortly after arrival.

Barich Named Awards Judge for Scholastic Industrial Arts
Prof. Dewey F. Barich heads the industrial arts department and will judge Metal and Machine Shop at Scholastic Magazines annual Scholastic Industrial Arts Awards. Winning work will be shown at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry from August 21 to October 15. Entries are due in Chicago by June 20 with no entry fee.

Kent State Offices Cut Back Hours This Summer
Comptroller Paul E. Beck announced Kent State University offices will close at 4 p.m. on weekdays starting July 1 with 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours and Saturday hours until noon. The registrar’s office stays open until 5 p.m. weekdays for enrollment. Regular hours resume Sept. 19.

Students drive 5000 miles for Oberlin geography tour

WESU Launches Second Quarter With Broad Program Mix

Mellert Accepts Texas Position at Southwest Texas State
Eleanor M. Mellert, instructor of health and physical education, has accepted a position as assistant professor of physical education at Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos. Guidance Tests Set In University Auditorium
Guidance tests will be given in the University School auditorium at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 30. All freshman and transfer students who entered the university in June are urged to take these tests at this time.
