Coeds Promote Cigarette Drive For Soldiers
Five University sororities join the Kent Junior Chamber of Commerce in a drive to ship 1,000,000 cigarettes to overseas servicemen. Esme Jones Janet Good Laurel Ernstmeyer Marge Edixon Helen Carlson and their groups urge University president Dr. K C Lee to support the project. Tickets cost 50 cents and equal one car ton. Labels will mark cartons sold in quantities of 100 or more.

Munzenmayer Urges Students To Register For NYA Work
Dr. Lester Munzenmayer, director of the university placement office, urged students enrolled in the National Youth Administration program or seeking NYA work to file applications this week. If NYA is discontinued next year, the office will help with part time work on and off campus and for next fall teaching positions. More than half of teaching applicants have already been placed.

Five Kent State sororities assist Karl Chesnutt in a Civic Project to send 100000000 cigarettes to servicemen overseas. The drive at the University ends June 15. Each carton includes sender’s name and address with a "Drop me a line" card. If any group sells over 100 cartons at 50 cents each, a small seal reading "Compliments of sorority Kent State university Kent Ohio" is attached.

Blue Books Return Drive To Registrar Office
Students are asked to turn in all blue books to the registrar this week. Each book must be accompanied by a stamped self addressed envelope.
