Summer Session Entertainment To Begin With Lecture June 26
Fren Musselman announces a summer program at the University featuring a lecture by Wing Commander M J Baird Smith on bombing raids over Germany and Libya, plus two singers, two art exhibits and a play by the Town Hall Players of Kent on July 1. Donald Dickson and Madame Maria Hussa of the Metropolitan Opera are slated for July 12 and August 11 respectively, with art shows from Butler Art Institute and a Cleveland exhibit. Final plans may add one or two more features.

Three Get Awards For Intra Mural Forensic Contests
Individual awards for the intra mural forensic contests were awarded to Art Durivage Jean Dilgard and Helen Ann McCarthy at the Student Forensic association banquet Monday. Two soldiers Scheffel Pierce and Harold Stern received awards in absentia. Pierce got his second year recognition and Stern a certificate of achievement. Wetzell Nazi Prisoner Report Reaches Family
Mrs Homer Semler of Craine avenue reports that her son Lowell Buzz Wetzell, missing in action, is said by unconfirmed reports to be a prisoner of war in a German camp. Berlin short wave broadcasts confirm American POWs and a Cleveland bombardier’s family relayed a message that Wetzell said he was well and would write when possible. Wetzell, once a football star, flew the bomber named the Golden Flash when he was lost.

Chapman to Attend Army Warfare Course at Purdue
Dr. G. H. Chapman assistant professor of chemistry will represent the University at Purdue University Army course on chemical warfare next week. He is chief gas officer of the Kent district civilian defense office and will report on his return. He will remain at the University all summer as an instructor for University and aviation.
